Dark Woods: Survival is a spin-off game in collaboration with the Don't Starve series.It also sheds light on how Eden turned into the Dark Woods. It follows Nostradamus who along with his sister joins a circus in Eden after their mother's death. Dark Woods V: Freak Show: the fifth game in the series that takes place before the events of the first game.Ashley and Nostradamus also appear again, having aged a lot since the last time. Not much is currently known about this except that The Threat is, behind the scenes, the main antagonist and send one of her sevants to the Dark Woods. Dark Woods IV: Descend: the fourth game that takes place a certain amount of time after the third game.Hein, Lily and Rai go back to the Dark Woods to discover what's behind all of this. A young girl named Ashley unleashes another Black Death over the world. Dark Woods III: The Plague Returns is the third game in the series which takes place two years after the events of Dark Woods II.Hein, Lily and Rai make it their mission to save the other victims of Lamia but quickly discover that Plague Master is the true villain in this story and wants to gain the Nova powers for his plan. Dark Woods II: New Woods is the second game in the series taking place directly after the ending of the first game.The first game ends with an open ending, though the main treat is defeated. Multiple characters had been introduced some of which were minor but were confirmed to play a bigger role in the sequel. It established the plot's framework of the Dark Woods and its inhabitants. Dark Woods is the first game in the series and introduced us to the main character Hein.But the true embodiment of this trope is Mayu, who, in one of the very last chapters, kills Cul when Meiko shows her more love. Tei is shown to have some yandere tendencies, too, when she threatens Miku for interrupting her time watching Len. Yandere: Rin, in particular, seems to have shades of this towards her brother and Meiko.This causes both the double and Meiko to rot away and die.
Synchronization: At the climax, Miku is able to trick Meiko into cursing a double of herself instead of Luka.Shout-Out: Chapter one mentions Miku having read Closure of Yellow for her literature class.She died, Miku took her place, and now Luka is getting closer, and seems doomed to repeat Miku and become the next diva. Miku snuck into the circus to find the pink-haired diva. Reincarnation Romance: Of the star-crossed variety.Past-Life Memories: Miku's dreams of Luka turn out to be this.Special mention goes to Mayu, who is all cheer and smiles while throwing knives at her stuffed rabbit and threatening to kill Miku for not singing, but this trope could easily apply to many of the other characters, like Teto and Rin.
Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: Some of the circus members come across as this.Maybe Ever After: At the end of the fic, it seems likely that Miku and Luka are going to get together, but it's understandably very tentative.It is confirmed in later chapters that he is fed the bodies of the dead divas. I'm a Humanitarian: Kaito is implied to be one, although he acts more like an animal than a human.The circus also features some side-show acts (such as a contortionist and a fire breather) that aren't advertised as freaks. Circus-goers don't go into the tent, however instead, there are three peepholes in the side of the tent where they can look into the cages. The Freakshow: The tattered brown tent features one of these.
